Dr. Rajan Sankaran

 Dr. Rajan Sankaran, a second generation Homoeapath, (son of the renowned Dr. P. Sankaran) graduated from the then called Bombay Homoeopathic Medical College in 1981 (now known as Smt. Chandaben Mohanbhai Patel Homoeopathic Medical College). He had as teachers classical homoeopaths like Dr. S.R. Phatak, Dr. Sarabhai Kapadia & Dr. J.N. Kanjilal. He also had contact with original thinkers such as Dr. M.L. Sehgal (Delhi), Dr. Jan Scholten, Dr. Juregen Becker & Jeremy Sherr. He is the Assistant Professor in the department of Repertory in Smt. C.M.P. Homoeopathic Medical College, Mumbai and is attached to its hospital as the Honorary Physician. He is the Editor of the Asian Edition of the "Homoeopathic Links" and is also the Vice-Chairman of the International Council for Classical Homoeopathy (Asian Region). |

He has written the following books :-
- The spirit of Homoeopahty (English language) which explains his concept of disease as a state. This book is divided into 4 sections viz:-
- Philosophy - Disease as a STATE
- MIND - Delusions & Dreams
- Case Taking and Finding the Remedy
- Materia Medica.
It has been translated in Russian, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Polish & Dutch languages.
- The Substance of Homoeopathy - Which explains his idea of Miasms, classification of states as well as his idea of classifying remedies and states into kingdoms. It has been traslated into German, Italian & Dutch languages.
- The Soul of Remedies - In which he has in a synoptic form given his understanding & essence of a hundred remedies. It is translated into German.
- Provings - A complilation of the provings of eleven remedies.
- An Insight into plant families - A book on plant families. This book has given great insights into remedies which one never would have been though of. This book is based upon Rajan's current concept on Plant kingdom.

He has edited the works of his father Dr. P. Sankaran into two volumes called "Elements of Homoeopathy".
- The most recent book "The System of Homoeopathy" gives detailed report of over 40 successful cases and explains step by step his system of working with cases using the concepts of delusions, miasms & kingdoms.
He is known for having originated ideas on delusion and the use of this in practice as well as his idea of classifying potients into Animal, Mineral and vegetable Kingdoms and also for his novel use of the concept of Miasm.
Dr. Rajan Sankaran teaches in more than 15 countries which include South Africa, Israel, Spain, England, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Austria, France, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakic Republic, Russia, United States of America , Australia, New Zealand besides several cities in India like Mumbai, Madras, Delhi, Ahmedabad & Ludhiana.
He runs a very busy practice since 1981 in Mumbai and lives in Mumbai with his wife and two children.
