Monday, 09 August 2004
The need for Post Graduate teaching is so high that when for the first time we conducted a residential clinical course last year we received more than 400 applications for only 50 seats. The applicants were having from 4 to 20 years of experience in their clinical practice, which highlights the demand for Post Graduate Studies in Homoeopathy. There are more needs as far as homoeopathy is concerned. We intend to fullfill them all at Lonavala with the Lonavala project. Know more about it...Current Need The need for Post Graduate teaching is so high that when for the first time we conducted a residential clinical course last year we received more than 400 applications for only 50 seats. The applicants were having from 4 to 20 years of experience in their clinical practice, which highlights the demand for Post Graduate Studies in Homoeopathy. Homoeopathy is an art, and like any art, is best taught by contact with skilled practitioners. We have been teaching through Video recorded cases and cases interviews done live through closed circuit Television. Post Graduate Training in Homoeopathy by using such modern techniques is the need of the hour in Homoeopathy. Only this way a high standard in classical Homoeopathy can spread and benefit the practitioners and through them innumerable patients suffering from chronic and psychosomatic illnesses which have no permanent solution in modern medicine. Details of the Project We have acquired six acres of land at Lonavala, which is a hill station two hours from Bombay. It is equidistant from two metropolitan cities. Bombay and Poona. This place is well connected by rail and road. The place is serene and lies on the bank of a lake called "Pauna". We plan to build here a Modern Teaching Centre of Homoeopathy for students from India and all over the world. Courses will be held here through out the year and will be very affordable. Later we plan to have patients coming and staying for sometime while getting treated. We also plan to integrate other natural health sciences like yoga, meditation, music, diet, and naturopathy into the treatments of patients whenever they are required. This will serve to provide patients with an excellent level of integrated care and it will also provide a meeting ground of all health practitioners. Further there will also be a Research Centre with the co-operation between Modern Medical Specialists and Homoeopaths on various types of diseases like Arthritis, Diabetes, and Asthma etc. Papers on these will be published in international journals so that statistically the efficacy of Homoeopathy can be demonstrated. Practitioners of Homoeopathy and also the postgraduate students will be given clinical training under various Homoeopaths. They will observe the case taking; process live through television monitors and learn the skills of case taking, remedy selection and case management. We will also have referral system for practitioners of Homoeopathy where they can refer difficult cases to a panel of experts. This is genuinely needed today in the interest of progress of the science and also in the interest of patients. There will be regular discussion within the group on various cases. We also intend to start a Homoeopathic Pharmacy to procure and make recently discovered medicines and make them available to Homoeopaths. With all these activities the Centre will have the potential of becoming a Nerve Centre of Homoeopathy in India, which will give tremendous boost to standards of Homoeopathic practice. It is also going to be a place where we can conduct seminars and lectures by Indian and Foreign teachers. When ready the centre promises to be one of the most important Homoeopathic Teaching / Treatment Centres in the world. The whole project will take around 18 months to complete. Your Contributions The estimated cost of the basic infrastructure in Indian rupees 2.69 million which is approximately 611000 (0.6 million) US Dollars. We expect once the institution is there the working cost will be met with by the courses and the patient. We invite contributions in the form of donations or in the form of sponsoring specific facilities like auditorium, consulting rooms or staying area etc. The sponsored facility can be named after the donor. Our being a public charitable institution, all contributions are exempt from Tax deduction as per section 80-G of the Income Tax act.
